IHSS Hosts Annual Review Meeting for Groundbreaking Climate Change Research

In a landmark event from April 18th to 24th, 2024, the Institute of Human Settlements (IHSS) played host to the highly anticipated Annual Review Meeting for the Young People's Engagement in Climate Change (Y-Engage Research) project. This gathering brought together a distinguished cohort of six PhD students alongside esteemed senior researchers and supervisors hailing from Ardhi University (ARU), the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), and Copenhagen University (UCPH – Denmark).

To foster academic collaboration and advance crucial research endeavors, the meeting served as a platform for the exchange of groundbreaking insights and preliminary findings from the field. Among the key topics discussed were the innovative methodologies employed in qualitative analysis and the formulation of scientific articles.

At the heart of this initiative lies the Youth Engagement in Climate Change Tanzania (Y-ENGAGE) project, a pioneering endeavor aimed at deepening our understanding of climate change education while empowering youth to become catalysts for transformative action and activism. Focused on engaging young minds in both educational and community settings across Singida, Mtwara, Rufiji, and Kiteto, this project signals a critical step forward in the global fight against climate change.
