Ombeni Swai (PhD) is an architect and researcher specialized in Urban Design and transformation, sustainable cities and architectural analysis. He has more than fifteen years’ experience in both teaching and working in architectural practices. With a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Human Environmental Studies from Kyushu University, Japan, Swai has had the privilege of working as senior Post Doctoral researcher under the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for two years where he researched on the Bio-architecture and symbiosis for urban communities in developing countries. Currently, he is a senior lecturer in Urban Design, Architecture, and urban development at Ardhi University. He sits on various boards including Board of Tanzania Building Agency and Investment Committee of Mbeya University of Science and Technology where he chairs both boards.
