Prof. John Modestus Lupala is an Associate Professor of Town Planning at Ardhi University. He did his PhD in Built Environment Analysis at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm in 2002.He has been a member to the National Task Force for the Transfer of the National Capital and Team leader for the Preparation of the National Capital City Master Plan. He has conducted research and several consultancy projects including preparation of Water to Electricity Project, the SongoSongo Gs to Electricity Project, Flood Management in Kilosa town, Landscape Wide Conservation of Kihansi. Professor Lupala was appointed Director of Rural and Town Planning in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development from 2015 to 2020. His research has focused on urban planning, housing, informal settlements, public transport and built environment analysis. Prof. Lupala is a Fully Registered Town Planner with the Town Planners Registration Board.
