Dr. Mtani is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Human Settlements Studies (IHSS), Ardhi University (ARU). She holds a PhD in Engineering (Building Material Science) from Kassel University, Master of Engineering Management (MEM) in Project Management, and Bachelor of Architecture both from the University of Dar es Salaam. She specialized in Architecture, Project Management, Building Materials, and Conservation of Historic Buildings. She is a registered practicing Architect since 2007. In 2015-2019, She served as Deputy Secretary of Architects Association of Tanzania, while in ARU she held administrative post ranging from head of consultancy section at IHSS; Acting director of Gender Dimension Unit and currently a board member of IHSS and SACEM.
