On January 17th, 2026, Ardhi University students pursuing a BSc in Property and Facilities Management were encouraged to focus on their studies to succeed in the job market. ARU alumni shared this message during an industrial linkage event organized by the Department of Land Management and Valuation. The event brought together professionals in property and facilities management, former Ardhi University PFM alumni, and current PFM students.
Speaking at the event, Trude Henry, an Ardhi University Property and Facilities Management alumnus, urged current students to take their subjects seriously, noting that every detail covered in class is relevant to what they will encounter in their careers. She emphasized the importance of respecting themselves and their teachers, which can help build confidence and professionalism.
Rashid Ally, a PFM alumna and property and facilities management practitioner, reminded students that no employer will hire them solely because they studied PFM; rather, their competence, knowledge, integrity, and commitment in the field of property and facilities management will determine their employability.
Acting Dean of the School of Earth Sciences, Real Estate, Business, and Informatics, and Head of the Department of Land Management and Valuation, Dr. Elitruder Makupa, expressed the university's satisfaction in seeing PFM students actively engaged and acquiring practical knowledge in property and facilities management. They are benefiting from insights on professional skills, appearance, interview techniques, and quality assurance directly from industry experts from banks, professional associations, and leading property management firms. This event represents a significant step toward bridging the gap between academia and practice.
