Fortunatus Bahendwa (PhD) is Senior lecture and Head of Department of Achitecture at Ardhi University (Dar es Salaam). He completed his PhD in Architecture from Oslo School of Architecture (AHO) in Norway and a Masters degree in Architecture from the same University. He completed his Bachelor degree in Architecture in 2001 from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. He engages in research and architectural consultancy. Dr. Bahendwa is actively involved in research with several publications in referred journals. His research focuses on architecture and culture, informal urbanism, housing, sustainable architectural design, green urbanism, construction, and material technology. He has significant international and interdisciplinary exposure through his involvement in international research programs including SIDA (Sweden), ERASMUS+ (Belgium) and other Inter-University collaborations.
