ARDHI UNIVERSITY

History and background

The Ardhi University (ARU) Dodoma Regional Training Centre is a strategic regional hub established to expand the University’s academic, research, innovation, consultancy and professional training services beyond its main campus in Dar es Salaam. As part of Ardhi University, a public higher learning institution under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Centre supports national and regional capacity development through advanced education, research, innovation and professional engagement.

Located in Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania, the Centre serves as a gateway for collaboration between the University, government institutions, development partners, the private sector and professional bodies. Its strategic location within the seat of government creates opportunities for policy engagement, executive training, consultancy services and institutional partnerships.

The Centre aligns with the aspirations of Tanzania Development Vision 2050 by responding to the growing demand for flexible, industry-responsive and technology-driven learning. It offers postgraduate studies, executive education, specialized short courses, micro-credentials, continuing professional development (CPD), online and blended learning, and tailor-made institutional programmes designed for working professionals, government officials, entrepreneurs, development practitioners and international learners.

As Ardhi University’s first prototype regional centre, the Dodoma Regional Training Centre is envisioned as a scalable model for future regional hubs across the country. It also strengthens the University’s outreach within Central Tanzania and across the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC), enhancing access to knowledge, innovation and professional services throughout the region.
