Jacob M. Kihila (PhD) is a Senior Research Fellow in Environmental Sciences and Engineering. He is a registered professional Environmental Engineer (ERB) and registered ESIA and Audit Expert (NEMC). He has a doctoral degree in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. He has a Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, both from the University of Dar es Salaam. He teaches water treatment, wastewater treatment, Environmental Impact Assessment, Research Methodology, Ecological sanitation, and Hazardous Waste Management to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His current research focuses on Sustainable Resource Recovery from Wastewater and Waste for Renewable Energy and Fertilizer Production, a collaborative project between ARU and Hasselt University, KU Leuven, and Ghent University in Belgium with funding from the VLIR-UOS programme.
