Yohannes E. Kachenje (PhD) is a registered Town Planner, currently employed as a Research Fellow in the Institute of Human Settlement Studies (IHSS) of Ardhi University (ARU), Dar es Salaam, where he is also the HoD, Training. His PhD research (2017) was on Institutional Coordination in Municipal Services, particularly water supply. He now coordinates a WASH Research Network in East Africa, which links researchers and practitioners from Sweden (Stockholm Environment Institute), East Africa and the United States of America. Current research within that network is on WASH Interventions and Stakeholders Engagement in Tanzania. Dr. Kachenje also teaches and supervises students’ work related to housing, land use planning, settlements dynamics, and infrastructure planning and management, mainly at postgraduate level.
